Welcome to our little piece of the internet. Allow us to introduce ourselves. We are Chris and Alisha Wells. When raising four active and brilliant children, maintaining a small hobby farm, volunteering in our community, and our nine-to-fiver just didn’t fill enough of our time, we decided to try our hand at this small business thing to keep us busy.  

Actually that’s really not true at all. We have only been able to start Heartfire Books because we have an incredible family network that supports us in all we do. We have amazing children who are patient and encouraging. We have a fabulous work situation that appreciates the importance of balancing work and family life. And the reality is, that we have had to scale back some of our volunteer efforts, but we hope we are still having a positive influence in our community.  

The truth of why we started Heartfire Books boils down to the fact that we both have stories to tell, and we have been fortunate enough to be born at a time when you don’t have to wait for a letter to show up in the mail to tell you someone else thinks your book is worth publishing.  

We established Heartfire Books as a way to help navigate the publishing hoops an author, initially ourselves, jump through to ultimately see her book in print.  We are, and plan to stay, a small publishing house. We want to help others who are producing uplifting material that will edify the world. For now though, we are not taking any independent submissions, until we have published a few more of our own stories.

Since our origination, we as a company have also branched out into the public speaking circuit. Alisha in particular has enjoyed several opportunities to speak at local elementary schools and national conferences. Her passion for the written arts drives her to advocate for literacy in all ages. If you are curious, we have several presentations formats available.

We’re not sure what the future has in store for us, but we know there will always be a need for uplifting stories to be shared. As a couple and as a company, we are excited for the adventure that awaits!
