Here at Heartfire, libraries have always held a special place in our hearts. Many fond memories for us have personally been created while enjoying the events and resources found at our local library.
Now that our adventures have taken us more fully into the world of books, we enjoy professionally supporting both the mission and programming libraries offer to the community. Some of our author programming for libraries include:
- Story hours: We are happy to join along as guest readers for a library’s story hour. When the story hour is a simple event that just involves enjoying a few books together, we consider our participation as simply a way to positively contribute to the community. We don’t charge a presentation fee for guest readings. Free
- Author Talks: If you are looking for a slightly more involved event, our authors are able to offer lively discussions that will inspire conversation and engage the imaginations of your patrons. These programs can range from 30 – 60 minutes and can be scheduled for during the day or in the evening hours. If there is a particular subject or theme you would like included in the messaging of the presentations, feel free to coordinate that with us and we will adapt the activities to your needs. $200 – $250
- Workshops: Heartfire has both hosted as well as been invited to assist in several workshop events. These engagements tend to have more of the flavor of an interactive class or seminar over an entertaining talk. We would be happy to offer workshop-style events for your patrons. As the time frame for these events can range from 30 minutes to several hours, the presenter fee also has a range. Again, if there is a particular focus you would like us to address, let us know and we’ll work with you to develop just the right presentation for your patrons. $200-$500
In addition to giving presentations, we are also eager to make our books accessible to the broader public. While we distribute our books through in-person events or on our website, we go through IngramSpark for our printing to make the process of ordering simpler for libraries in general. We are able to offer tax-exempt and discounted pricing on books purchased through our online bookstore.
If you are interested in having a book donated to your library, we are happy to talk about ways we can help make that happen. The most common, mutually-beneficial experience in the past has been when a library hosts a free author signing for one of our authors. We then are happy to donate a free copy of one of our titles to that library in return for helping us to better connect with our readers.
