For Teachers

First, let us thank you for including our books in your classroom curriculum. The work you are doing is tremendously important, and we want to do what we can to support your efforts to help guide and shape the rising generation of youth.

All of the material is free for you to use and share with your fellow educators. Our one request is that you share links not downloads. Sending people to our website to do their own downloading allows us to better gauge what material is useful and what is not so we know where to invest our time for future material development.

On that note, if you have an idea for a supplemental, either regarding our books or generally for the classroom, drop us a note at suggestions@heartfirebooks.com. Our creative staff is always looking for fun side projects. If we have the time to spare, we can spin up a project and post it here with the rest of our free supplementals.

Although no one person and no activity falls neatly into any one category of learning styles, we’ve categorized the offerings based on the more likely appeal to the styles of learning.

The Hands-ons (Kinesthetic Engagements)

We’ve crafted a selection of printable activities each with ink and paper economy in mind.

The Discussions (Audio Engagements)

Sometimes learning happens best when the student is the one speaking. In addition to the discussions we offer with our in person and virtual author visits, we have created a resource to engage expanded conversation in the classroom. Below is a collection of questions that can be use to feed conversations for each of our offered titles. They are designed for a range of age groups, so select the prompt best suited for your students.

The Teaching Printables (Visual Engagements)

These resources are designed more at the classroom level than for individual students to use. They range from wall art posters, to visual aides and the likes.

The Applications (Reading/Writing Engagements)

Actively thinking about a story can help an individual draw connections between the text they are reading and themselves as well as other pieces of literature. Resources like storyboards and word puzzles can be found for each of our titles at the following links.
