We love our books and hope that you do too! We also want you to be happy with the purchasing experience.
Unfortunately we are not conducting in-person visits to schools and libraries at this time. We are, however, excited to now be offering virtual author visits.
Books: Due to the nature of our products, we only offer exchanges at this point in time. No returns will be accepted regardless of the state of the product.
Virtual Visit: Again, due to the nature of our products, we do not offer a refund after the information for a virtual visit has been transferred to you as the customer. We encourage you to ask questions to be certain of what you will be receiving prior to making a purchase.
In-person Author Visits: Our policy regarding deposits paid towards an in-person author visit for a school or library is a bit more complicated.
If you as the customer need to change the contracted visit, every reasonable effort will be made to reschedule that event within a 365 day period. Your deposit will be applied to that future event, and payment in full will not be required until two days prior to the first scheduled day of the event.
Be Advised! If you need to simply cancel the event, and there is no intention of rescheduling the event, there will be no refund of the deposit.
If the circumstances require that the author must cancel the scheduled event, every reasonable effort will be made to reschedule your event. If that option is not available, and a new event date cannot be settled upon, then the author will offer a full refund of the deposit.
Making a Claim
We are reasonable individuals. If you ordered one too many of a particular item, or you find out that your special someone already has a copy of the book you purchased, send us an email. While we will not offer a refund, we will work personally with you to attempt an amicable resolution.
Third Party Delivery and Liability
Sometimes there are circumstances outside of our control that may affect the state of the product you receive. If you have the unfortunate experience of receiving a damaged item, we will try to work with you to correct that situation.
If the fault was ours due to a packaging error, we will replaced the damaged item. We do reserve the right to contest any claim.
If the damage occurred during transit, we will direct you to make a claim with the shipping company.
We cannot be held liable for lost or stolen products.
Shipping an Exchange
Free return shipping is not offered at this time for any products. See more about our shipping policy.
If you are shipping an exchange via your own carrier, we advise that you insure the package for the value of your exchange items and use a trackable service. Ship your exchange to: Heartfire Books, P.O. Box 365 Clio, Mi 48420
You Can’t Make Everyone Happy
Because there are some down-right unpleasant people out there, we do reserve the right to consider all sales final. At our sole discretion, if a customer is unprofessional or unreasonable we may terminate the claim and or communication. We also reserve the right to refuse sale to that individual for future dates.
